Who We Are

Czech Landscape Lens was founded by Martin Novak, a Prague-based landscape photographer who has spent over eight years exploring and photographing the Czech countryside. What started as a personal project to catalog the best shooting locations eventually grew into a resource that other photographers began relying on for trip planning.

Martin's work has been featured in outdoor photography publications across Europe. He holds a degree in visual communication from the University of West Bohemia and has led field workshops in Bohemian Switzerland, South Moravia, and the Krkonose Mountains since 2020.

Our small editorial team includes two contributing writers who specialize in outdoor travel and camera technology. Each article is reviewed for accuracy before publication.

Our Expertise

Every location guide on this site is written from direct experience. We do not publish recommendations based on secondhand information or stock photo locations we have not personally visited and photographed.

Camera settings and gear recommendations are tested in the field across multiple conditions before we include them. When we reference specifications or technical data, we cross-check against manufacturer sources and reputable review sites such as DPReview and LensTip.

For geographic and historical information about Czech locations, we reference the Czech Tourism Board, National Park administrations, and peer-reviewed geology resources.

How We Source Information

Our content follows a clear research process:

1. Field visits to each location across at least two seasons before we consider writing about it.

2. GPS coordinates and shooting positions are verified on-site using mapping tools.

3. Camera settings are documented at the time of capture, not reconstructed from memory.

4. Seasonal timing data (sunrise, fog probability, foliage peaks) is cross-referenced with historical weather data from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

5. All images used on this site are either our own work or sourced from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons licenses, with proper attribution.

Editorial Standards

We do not accept sponsored content or paid placement. Our gear recommendations are based solely on our field experience. We have no affiliate relationships with camera or outdoor equipment manufacturers.

If we make an error, we correct it and note the correction date. Every article displays its last updated date so readers can assess the timeliness of the information.

We welcome corrections and location suggestions from fellow photographers. Reach out through our contact page.
